Antique dresser meets Fusion – Mineral Paint @ Bungalow 968

I fell in love with this dresser as soon as my eyes spotted it and have been holding onto it for years waiting for that special reason to paint it. Well the time has come and our daughter is needing a big girl room, with big girl pieces of furniture.

This dresser is the perfect DIY project with Megan at http://bungalow968.ca/workshops/. I wanted to use Miss Mustard Seeds Milk Paint originally but really liked the brightness of the Fusion – Mineral Paint and felt it would look wicked in our daughters very bright lit bedroom. After some searching on Pinterest and guidance from Meg, I chose Renfrew Blue and Meg suggested we try the Laurentien as the under layering colour.

I love the details and hardware on this dresser and wanted to distress the wood carvings and reuse the hardware on the finished product!20160118_143834

The prep entailed removal of the hardware, a quick sanding and a layer of the Ultra Grip. Then we painted a layer of . It went on so smoothly and quite fast.

The finished project. YEAH!!! Super excited how well this turned out.

The workshop was great. Meg really helped me from beginning to end on this piece. Seriously did not have the confidence to do this on my own and am grateful for Meg’s knowledge, patience and expertise. I HIGHLY recommend Bungalow968 for any DIY furniture you want to do.
