Creative Blog Hop
I was nominated by North Shore Stamper, Angela McKay to participate in a Creative Blog Hop! I absolutely love Ange’s creations, she is very talented and I often find myself remaking her cards!!! To be part of this, first I had to be nominated by another Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. Thank you Ange! I can’t wait to create and be a part of the hop!
Then, I have to post a project:
I created this card from a card sketch from Pinterest. I used the new Chalkboard paper and inks. I then added some sparkle into glue to make the stars pop more. What do you think?
The next fun part of the Creative Blog Hop is where I answer some questions about me…
As a stay at home mom to a beautiful, full of endless energy, 15 month old daughter therefore I rarely have time to do any crafting anymore. I am getting better at finding time for me and though some nights I would rather crawl into bed at 7pm I do force myself to get my craft on occasionally. I am thrilled to be apart of this Blog Hop as it is helping me get my thinking cap on and create something from scratch vs casing someone else’s project !
1. What are you working on right now.
This is my first year of being a Demonstrator and I am determined to make it work. I am trying to get my name, Sea To Sky Stamper, more known within the community and keep my blog up to date with new posts regularly. I really struggle with technical things, like using a computer, so this is a huge make or break for me.
2. How does your style differ from others in your genre?
I’m someone who has never felt truly creative, (okay I copied that line straight from Ange’s Creative Blog Hop because I feel the exact same!) but I love how crafting makes me feel and it does really force me to use my brain which is something I tend to not do lately! I don’t think my cards really differ at all from others. Sometimes I get very inspirational and I go over the top with flare on a card but then I tend to step back and keep it simple. Keeping it simple seems to fit my life right now!
3. Why do you create what you do.
As I said previously I do not have a lot of me time in my life. During the day my daughter, dog and household are needing a lot of attention! The house usually lacks all the attention. So finding time for me is rare and when I do I find my craft supplies and zone out! Paper humbles me! I love the textures of paper and love attempting to put something together.
4. How does your creative process work.
Pinterest! Pinterest and numerous other bloggers get my creative process going. There are so many amazing artists out there and sometimes I need all the help I can get! With little or no time to actually think on my own I tend to use other peoples inspirations and see what I can do to change it up a bit! I also am starting to get into finding sketches and creating something from that. I tend to struggle the most with using accessories on a card but I try!
Finally, to end the Creative Blog Hop, I need to nominate another demonstrator to participate! Check out Sarah Newman next Wednesday March 18,2015 for her Blog Hop post!!!!!
